		<description>There&#039;s a semantic slippage here: community service and volunteerism *sound* like the same thing, but are they? It would seem like an oxymoron to require anyone to &quot;volunteer.&quot; But when we ask convicts to do &quot;community service,&quot; I don&#039;t think anyone pretends it is voluntary. So we can certainly debate whether this proposal is reasonable, but it&#039;s not ridiculous.</description>

Today, the people who are most vocal in demanding sacrifice are in fact often net beneficiaries of sacrifice by *others*.
