ugh. love how mr. B plays the victim. like he couldn’t have possibly applied a bit of critical thinking to that story and said “this looks suspicious.” even thought it’s all made up, i hope everyone gets the point? perhaps he should have done some real research and used a real example.

Bellesiles said he was saddened that his student had altered the details of a personal tragedy and that he regretted that he had unknowingly passed on a story that was not accurate. A typical non-apology. Anyway, aren’t historians supposed to critically examine their sources so that they don’t “unknowingly” pass on falsehoods?
